...or at least part of it. It's a valid question. For most, the name Rambo is associated with Sylvester Stallone. Admittedly, I have been known to don a red bandanna and hammer out my aggression on an unsuspecting piece of copper, but for me Rambo is a family name. When my family immigrated to the United States from Norway their surname was Olson after the patriarch, Ole, but when they got to Ellis Island, they were told there were already too many Olsons, and to pick a new name. They chose the name of their farm, Rambo. Over time, my family lost track of what the name means, but to us it means tradition, hard work, and heritage.
I never set out to go by Rambo, but my high school art teachers (who also taught my mother and her sisters) started using that moniker and it stuck. At this point, I can't imagine signing a piece of art with anything else.
Yours Truly,
Rambo
